Children and young people
Von Stockert has led creative dance workshops and worked with children and young people in a variety of settings, such as schools, conservatoires and arts venues. Many of the workshop programmes are attached to the company’s touring work and can take place within a festival, theatre or exhibition context.
All workshops are tailored to the participants’ physical skills, experience and age. Past engagement examples include: specifically designed schools workshop programmes that engage with themes from the curriculum; participation of school children and young people with and without previous dance experience in Tilted Productions’ outdoor work Belonging(s); workshops for CAT students (Centre for Advanced Training) in the UK; and choreographies for young people and student performance groups.
Recently (January until June 2025), von Stockert led a workshop programme for four classes of children in two elementary schools in Baugé-en-Anjou, France. She was supported by the participation assistant Mélissa Favreau and also integrated the teachers in the creative process. The programme was co-produced by Expérience 49 and linked to von Stockert’s creation Venu et Parti. 89 children between the ages of 6 and 11 participated and created their own choreographies during 6 workshops followed by presentations. The programme was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture – DRAC Pays-de-la-Loire, the Department of Maine-et-Loire and the City of Baugé-en-Anjou.
